Welcome to Vermont Access Network

Welcome to the Vermont Access Network, a non-profit corporation established to promote an interest in the effective operation and advancement of Public, Educational and Government Access centers in the State of Vermont. It is the mission of the Vermont Access Network to further the goals of Vermont's PEG organizations and to foster free speech, interconnectivity and community discourse through the use of current and future communications technologies.

This web site is designed as a working area for the members of VAN although there is a public element as well. In order to participate you must register by clicking on the create account link to the left if you have not already done so. You will be asked if you want to join some groups. Access to different groups is based on certain criteria, i.e. if you are a member of VAN you would ask to subscribe to the VAN Members group. If you ask to be included in a group and are denied it is usually because you don't meet the criteria for that particular group, i.e. you are not a member of VAN. If you feel you have been erroneously denied access to a group please contact Rob at rob@vermontcam.org.

This site is a Drupal site and has many different capabilities. We hope you will participate and use the site to incite discussion. We have set up a group called VAN Web Site Help to post any questions about how to use the site. The basic forms of posting are blogs and forum topics. A blog post would be something that you wish to make people aware of, while a forum topic is more of a place to get a discussion going. However comments can be attached to either. Also, I wanted to point out the navigation links on the upper right of your screen with more information about VAN. More in depth tutorials are being prepared but we would like to know how the new site is working for you so please post any concerns in the VAN Web Site Help forum.

Thanks for visiting and please stay awhile.
