Folks who are attending this event on Friday afternoon in Colchester should be aware of the work being done by the Center for Social Media located in the School of Communication at The American University in Washington, DC.
Professor Patricia Aufderheide, very familiar with PEG access (I can vouch for this personally, as she and I were associates there back in the 80's and 90's), has compiled and published an impressive body of information on fair use and copyright. Her's is a wide focus, from "independent filmmakers," to "online content producers," to "students and faculty." There is much for us in her work to learn about, for many of these applications use the same media as we do, and the same laws apply.
